This is me in one page:
Wondering what I did prior to November 2020? One page resumes can only tell one part of a person's story.
My first career was in art museums with the intention to become a curator, but the more time I spent in museums (Smithsonian American Art Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, and the Birmingham Museum of Art), the more I realized I wanted to do something besides sit in a cubicle doing research and writing content only a handful of people would likely ever read.
So I shifted onto a "nonprofit generalist" path, working in fundraising, fiscal and audit compliance, events, graphic design, and communications for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Community Action Partnership. While at the Partnership, I returned to graduate school for a communications degree and began more aggressively pursuing graphic design, integrating my passion into my career instead of treating it as a "side gig."
Graphic design lets me lose myself in the creative process, and designing for print is especially exciting because I can hold my design in my hand, seeing it as a tangible product that could have a big impact. I'm excited for my next graphic design position and the opportunity to further refine my craft, explore animation, and push my creativity to its limits.
